Freedom of speech is an American foundation and a guaranteed right through the First Amendment, however, Plainfield Townshipreserves the right to remove and/or report to law enforcement agencies User Content posted to or transmitted via the Township’s Facebook page or any of its authorized social media platforms, in which Plainfield Township determines, in its solejudgment, to be offensive, illegalor might violate the rights, harm or threaten the safety of others. The followingis a partial list of the kind of User Content that is prohibited from transmission through the Township’ssocial media platforms:

 

  • Materialwhichisprofane,obsceneor
  • Materialwhichisabusive,discriminatoryorhatefulonaccountofrace,nationalorigin, religion,age, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
  • Threats,personalattacks,harassmentoradvocatingtheharassmentofanother
  • Solicitations or
  • Potentially libelous statements or
  • Impersonatinganypersonorentityorfalselymisrepresentingyouraffiliationwithany other person or
  • Behaviorinvasiveofanotherperson’sorentity’s
  • Promotingorprovidinginformationthatyouknowtobefalseor
  • Promotingorprovidinginstructionalinformationaboutillegal
  • Infringinganypatent,copyright,trademark,servicemark,tradesecretorother proprietary right of any other
  • Commentsunrelatedtothediscussionormaterialintheoriginal post.
  • Taking any action which disrupts the operation of any of the social media platforms.
  • Violate any other laws or ethical standards.
