Assessment Explanation 2024
2024 Assessment Notices will be mailed out on August 7th, 2024. September 9th, 2024 is the deadline to appeal the 2024 Assessments.
Commercial/Industrial Appeals
Only commercial/industrial properties in Plainfield Township that had their 2024 assessed values changed will receive an assessment notice in 2024. This year the most common changes were new construction properties. If you disagree with your assessed value, we will review your assessment.
Per Will County Board of Review policy we are able to discuss assessments in detail with property owners, authorized agents or managers representing the LLC that owns the property as verified per the Illinois Secretary of State website, and/or licensed attorneys that have been authorized by the owner or persons with an interest in the LLC that owns the property.
For us to review your commercial or industrial assessment, we recommend you send us as much information as possible regarding why you disagree with your assessment. We will review the commercial/industrial rent roll form, and the commercial/industrial vacancy/occupancy affidavit located under commercial forms below. Please also include any additional income and itemized expense information that may be helpful. Vacancy, expenses and income information should be submitted from 2022, 2023, and year-to-date 2024 information to give us a complete picture of the property. If you still disagree with your assessment after discussing it at the Township level, you have the right to file a formal appeal through the Will County Board of Review. Will County Board of Review has a September 9th, 2024 appeal deadline.
