OUR LEAF PICKUP PROGRAM IS A FOUR WEEK PROGRAM THAT IS BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 27TH, 2025!!  Please see our guidelines below and call with any questions-

NOTE:  There will not be leaf pickup on Monday Nov. 10th in observance of Veteran’s Day.  Leaf pickup will start on Tuesday that week.

 

Leaf Collection    

THE LEAF PICKUP PROGRAM PERAMETERS HAVE CHANGED!  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING :  Leaves will be picked up ONE time per week!  This is a 4 week program that will not be extended.

Note:  This program is designed to be service to residents of Plainfield Township who receive road service provided by the Plainfield Township Highway Department.

Leaves will be picked up daily in the same subdivision order.  We will only pickup one time each week  (weather permitting.)

PLEASE HELP US WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • Please rake your leaves to the edge of the road AS THEY FALL! Don’t wait to put them out until they have all fallen since the weather may alter, delay, or permanently halt the leaf collection at any time.  This program is weather permitting, and also depends on the availability of leaf disposal since we do not burn.
  • Place leaves at the edge of the road- NOT in the road.
  • DO NOT blow grass clippings into the street.  This will cause blockage in the drain sewers and may cause severe flooding.
  • Please remove basketballs hoops from the street and easement areas as they inhibit the passing of leaf trucks and snowplows.

Please note: Not all roads within the Township are under the jurisdiction of the Plainfield Township Highway Department. This makes it confusing for some residents who are trying to get information and service. If you have questions, please call 815-436-6090. Your questions will be handled, or you will be directed to the proper State, County, local City or Village agency that is responsible.
