Highway Commissioner
The Plainfield Township Highway Department is responsible for approximately 50 miles of roadway, bordered to the north by 135th Street, to the south by Theodore Street, to the east by Gaylord Road, and to the west by County Line Road. Not all roads in the township are under the township jurisdiction. This makes it very confusing for residents trying to get information and service.
Call 815.436.6090 with any questions. If the Highway Department cannot handle or provide an answer, you will be directed to the proper governing body.
About Christy Bryant
I am a dedicated wife, mother, professional, and community advocate driven by resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to service. My career has been defined by hard work and a strong desire to make a meaningful impact—both on the road and in the lives of others.
From 2014 to 2019, I owned and operated a successful event planning and catering business before shifting my focus to dropout recovery programs, helping young adults get back on track and achieve their educational goals. Over the past six years, I’ve proudly served as a Class A, CDL-certified salt truck and snowplow driver, keeping commercial properties safe through harsh winters. I also spent a year as a school bus driver with the Teamsters Union, further strengthening my knowledge of transportation operations.
With more than 20 years of project management experience, I’ve developed strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills that I bring to every aspect of my work. My commitment to community runs deep. Since moving to Plainfield in 2019—a decision inspired by the area’s resources for individuals with special needs and my son Enzo’s recovery after a life-altering accident—I’ve become even more devoted to local advocacy.
My husband and I are proud parents to three children, and in 2020, we welcomed our niece and nephew into our home. My family is my greatest motivation. I actively volunteer with Ready Set Ride, a therapeutic riding organization for individuals with disabilities.
As Highway Commissioner, I bring perseverance, compassion, and hands-on experience to every mile I serve. I am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Plainfield Township residents and will continue working hard to maintain the roads that connect our community.
Thank you
The Plainfield Township Highway Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to every resident of Plainfield Township for your continued support.
