Doug is a lifelong resident of Plainfield Township and active in the community. He was previously employed by Commonwealth Edison (Exelon) and left in the 1990s to focus on his business full time, Shreve Services Inc., a company that he started in 1984.

 

For the last 29 years, he has amassed a wealth of experience providing trucking, landscape supply, and snow & ice management services in the community. For nearly his entire career, he has been a contractor that partners with various area municipalities to provide these services. He considers this experience to be a great asset in his role as Township Highway Commissioner. 

 

Doug has also spent 25 years as a volunteer for the Plainfield Fire Protection District and is currently a life member. He was elected as a Trustee for the fire district in 2011 and is presently serving· his second term through 2023. He has volunteered and served as President of both the Plainfield Junior Cat Football team and the Plainfield Central High School Athletic Booster club.

 

A dedicated family man, Doug has been married to his best friend Kimberly Wagner Shreve, also from Plainfield, for 40 years. They are the proud parents of three wonderful sons that they have raised in the community and have been blessed with four grandchildren that they describe as the “sunshine of our lives.”

 

As someone who cares intensely about the community and local businesses, he is coming into this position with an eye on transparency at the road district and good stewardship of the road district funds. Doug welcomes feedback and partnership with all the citizens of the township.

 

Doug considers it a massive honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Plainfield Township as Highway Commissioner.
