General Homestead Exemption Letters Mailed

The statuses of General Homestead Exemptions are currently being reviewed in our office.  If there was a question regarding your eligibilty, a letter has been mailed to your home.  Your timely response is greatly appreciated as we work to ensure each homeowner is receiving all the exemptions to which he/she is entitled.  Please send your reply to: 22525 W. Please note: The 2015 Real Estate Exemption Renewal Forms for additional exemptions (senior freeze, disabled persons, disable veterans, etc...) will be mailed at the end of March.

Property Record Cards Now Available Online!

In addition to your assessment and property details, you can now view your complete property record card with sketch using the Property Search Tab on our website.  To do this, go to Look up my Property Information and search either by Parcel/PIN number (omitting the 06) or by your street address.  Click on the PIN number and you will see a link at the bottom for your Property Record Card w/ Sketch.  Click on the PDF to view, save, or print your property record card.  On this card, you will find assessment history, pertinent details about your home, and a property sketch.  As always, feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns!

 



Assessment Notices Mailed August 1st

If there was a change to your 2014 assessment, you should be receiving an assessment notice in the mail sometime in the next week or so.  These changes will also be posted in your local newspaper on August 6th.  Typically, changes are made to an assessment when a newly built home is added to the tax rolls, when an improvement or addition is made to a property, or when a neighborhood is reviewed.  Please note that the vast majority of assessments will remain the same as they were in 2013, therefore most residents will NOT be receiving a notice.  You can look up your assessment details on our website by clicking the property search link on the right.  If you would like more information on how assessments are calculated, and for details on the appeal process, check out this brochure.



Tax Bills Mailed May 1st

The 2013 property tax bills will be mailed by the Will County Treasurer's Office on May 1st with the first installment being due no later than June 2, 2014.  You can review your tax bill and make payments online after May 1st at www.willcountytaxbill.com.  Payments can also be mailed to the Will County Collector, PO Box 5000, Joliet, IL 60434-5000.  Payments can be made in person weekdays from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM at the Will County Building, 302 North Chicago Street, Joliet 60432-4059. There is a Drop Box in the parking lot for after-hours payment.  Many local banks and credit unions also accept payments.  For a list of participating locations, visit: www.willcountytaxbill.com/bankcredit-union-locations-by-city.  If you do not receive a copy of your bill or need to update your name or mailing address information, contact the Treasurer at 815-740-4675.  For questions about how bills are calculated, assessments, and/or tax rates, please contact your local assessor's office.

 



2014 Exemption Forms Now Available!

The 2014 Real Estate Exemption Renewal Forms have been mailed.  If you need assistance completing your form, you may visit the Assessor’s Office anytime between 8am & 4pm, Monday – Friday.  No appointment is needed.  Be sure to bring your corresponding documentation, or if you're not sure what that might be, please call us first to verify at 815-436-5110.
